ZUMA Press Represents the Exceptional Work of LOU JONES
Laguna Beach, CA - July 9, 2003
ZUMA Press, Inc., one of the world's leading providers of editorial photography, is proud to represent the reportage, editorial, picture illustration and feature photography of LOU JONES, one of the most accomplished and diverse photographers in the Boston area.
Over his 30+ year career, Jones has photographed ten Olympic Games and traveled around the world to shoot assignments for an impressive range of clients, including Major League Baseball, Nike, Peugeot, NASA, British Telecom, FedEx, KLM, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, PARIS MATCH and PEOPLE magazine.
Jones spent six years researching and documenting the odyssey of men and women on death row across the United States. In 1997, he published an insightful book, "Final Exposure: Portraits from Death Row," which is currently in its second edition. The entire death-row series of images is represented by ZUMA Press.
Jones has also put together a jazz collection that he has worked on since the early 1970s. This compilation includes portraits of Art Blakey, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis and many more influential artists and is currently on display at Gallery 20/20 in Washington, D.C., until the fall of 2003. These images will be available via ZUMA Press in the near future. (Call 202.588.7433 for more information about Gallery 20/20.)
"Lou has an incredible talent for turning his interest in social issues, sports, science, travel and music into art," said Scott Mc Kiernan, director of ZUMA Press.
With exhibits at renowned galleries around the world, such as the Smithsonian and Corcoran galleries in Washington and the Feuerwagner in Austria, Jones' work has drawn significant international attention.
