Baltimore Bridge Collapse: Cargo Ship Crash Kills 6 Workers
March 26, 2024, Baltimore, Maryland, USA: At 01:27 EST, a Singaporean cargo vessel DALI crashed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge, struck one of its support pillars and the structure collapsed in 40 seconds. Eight people were working on road repairs, when the cargo ship hit, two of them were saved from the water. Six people died. The crew on the ship issued a 'mayday' call before the accident. The bridge extends over the Patapsco River and is an essential link of Interstate-695 the Baltimore Beltway. Between 1960 and 2015, globally 35 major bridge collapses were caused by boat strikes, killing 342 people. 18 bridges were in USA.

- 29 March 2024, Schleswig-Holstein, Lübeck: Kristina Herbst (l), President of the Schleswig-Holstein State Parliament, and Christoph Giering, Catholic Dean for Schleswig-Holstein, lead the ecumenical Stations of the Cross in the city center with a wooden cross, in which several hundred believers of different denominations took part. Walking in the middle behind them is Kirsten Fehrs, provisional chair of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany. The special form of the service is organized jointly by the Protestant and Catholic churches.
Coach crashes on the A44
- 29 March 2024, North Rhine-Westphalia, Werl: Firefighters work on a bus at the scene of an accident on highway 44 (A44). More than 20 people were injured in a bus accident on the A44 highway in North Rhine-Westphalia on Friday night. According to a police spokesperson, the coach with around 60 passengers, which left the road near Werl and crashed onto its side, was carrying pupils from a vocational college in Warburg on the border with Hesse. They were on their way back from a trip to England. The students were young adults.
