September 22, 2004 - San Clemente, CA - ZUMA Press, the largest independent editorial press agency and wire
service, has entered into a strategic partnership with US PRESSWIRE, the new premium sports newswire providing live content to editorial markets.
US PRESSWIRE was developed by industry-leading photojournalists to deliver high-quality sports content to news media worldwide. ZUMA
will expand the international reach for US PRESSWIRE images by utilizing the hundreds of distribution channels and partnerships that have made
ZUMA's market penetration unprecedented among independent picture news services.
"We are very proud of our partnership with US PRESSWIRE," says Scott Mc Kiernan, director and founder of ZUMA Press.
"Over the past two years, ZUMA has dedicated significant resources to building our sports division to a level where it
offers a viable alternative to news-agency giants AP and Getty in the highly competitive sports-picture content world. Our partnership with US PRESSWIRE
is a strategic move that places us in the major leagues!"
Additionally, US PRESSWIRE will leverage their prowess in the U.S. market to syndicate ZUMA's sports content domestically.
"This is an exciting partnership to announce following the launch of US PRESSWIRE's deadline news service," said Preston Mack, cofounder of US PRESSWIRE.
"ZUMA Press is a prominent international agency with a reputation for quality work. Their tremendous depth of distribution
partnered with our valuable sports experience and talent creates a strong service for news media worldwide."
Today's deal increases the depth and quality of ZUMA's daily wire feed of sports images. Our new partnership with US
PRESSWIRE follows closely behind ZUMA's announcement to syndicate the content of other top sports wires around the world,
including Empics in the U.K. and Panoramic Agence de Presse of France.
US PRESSWIRE's Website, USPresswire.com, was created by Z-Solutions, ZUMA's technology division.
